This process usually relies on silica-based materials like naturally-bonded sand or synthetic sand. The no bake sand casting consists of spherical, finely ground grains that can be packed tightly into a smooth moulding surface. Our design and manufacturing engineers have designed the casting process in a way that reduces the possibility of flaws like cracking and tearing, by ensuring that the cooling phase allows a moderate degree of shrinkage and flexibility.
Main advantages of Sand Casting-
The shell moulding process is somewhat similar to die casting and emphasises on using reusable molds that may be made of steel, graphite or other materials and can be used to cast different materials like zinc, aluminium, lead and magnesium alloys along with cast iron and certain bronzes. This low-pressure process involves manual pouring by using multiple molds on a turntable.
Advantages of using shell moulding casting process-
The green sand casting process utilizes the castings made with ‘green sand’ or wet sand molds and despite the name, the sand is not green in color and neither the molds are made from greensand. This casting process is called the green sand process because of the moisture content in the sand before it dries out when molten metal is poured into the mold. The main procedure involves loading green sand into a mold maker and pressing the pattern onto it and then pressure is applied to press the mold into the sand.
Advantages of using green sand casting process-
Shilpa Alloys manufacturing unit is not only equipped with the modernized machinery but we also have a highly skilled and experienced group of engineers and machinists at our expense who guarantee the highest quality and perfection of the manufactured products.
The process of pattern designing and making involves the use of a replica of the part that needs to be casted and is then used for preparing the mold cavity.
The Integrated Machine shop at Shilpa Alloys consists of power-driven machines that are designed to cut, drill, bore or grind metal or other materials, majorly handled by specialized machinists who are skilled .
